Contest Rules

These rules govern the the advertised prize draw run by Foothills Group Inc. at the event. Entering means you accept them.

No purchase necessary

No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Buying anything from Foothills Group neither improves nor reduces your chance of winning.

Who can enter

Open to residents of Alberta and British Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Foothills Group Inc., their immediate families and anyone living in the same household are not eligible. One entry per person. Void where prohibited by law.

How to enter

Complete the entry form at our event, either by scanning the QR code on the sign or by asking a member of our team to enter you by hand. Name and email address are required because we cannot notify a winner without them. The survey questions and the newsletter checkbox are optional and have no effect on your chance of winning.

The prize

One (1) the advertised prize. The prize is awarded as stated, cannot be transferred, and cannot be exchanged for cash. If it becomes unavailable we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

Your chance of winning

Odds depend on the number of eligible entries received. As a guide, past events of this kind have drawn roughly 100 to 200 entries, which would put the chance of winning between about 1 in 100 and 1 in 200.

Closing date and the draw

Entries close at 11:59 PM Mountain Time on the day of the event. The draw takes place within seven days of the event closing. The winner is selected at random from all eligible entries, by a representative of Foothills Group Inc..

The skill-testing question

Before the prize is awarded, the selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a mathematical skill-testing question involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. This is required by Canadian law. If the selected entrant answers incorrectly, does not respond within seven days of being contacted, or is not eligible, the prize is forfeited and another entrant is drawn.

How the winner is told

We will contact the winner using the email address on their entry. The winner may be asked to sign a declaration confirming eligibility, confirming the correct answer to the skill-testing question, and releasing Foothills Group Inc. from liability in connection with the prize.

Publicity

We will not publish the winner's name, photograph or business without asking for their agreement first, and refusing does not cost them the prize.

Privacy

Entry information is handled as set out in our Privacy Policy. Entering the draw does not sign you up to any marketing list.

General

We may cancel, suspend or amend the draw if it cannot be run as planned, subject to any approval required by law. Entries that are incomplete, illegible, automated or submitted in bad faith are void. Our decisions on all matters relating to the draw are final. These rules are governed by the laws of Alberta and of Canada.
